Where we work

Development and Peace — Caritas Canada is currently working in 34 countries through a network of 47 local partners, as well as the Caritas network, providing immediate humanitarian aid and longer-term development and peace-building projects.

We partner with local organizations with whom we enjoy close and often long-standing ties, and who know best the needs on the ground.

Israeli troops and tanks split the Gaza Strip and ringed its main city on Sunday in an offensive against Hamas militants but civilians trapped in the Palestinian enclave suffered more bloodshed. At least 34 Palestinians, most of them civilians, were killed on Sunday as Israeli shells slammed into houses and Gaza's main shopping district, medical sources said. REUTERS/Suhaib Salem (GAZA)
