Solidarity Fund

Our Solidarity Fund is the ideal tool for long-term support of the causes defended by Development and Peace — Caritas Canada. 

Donations made to the Solidarity Fund are invested in perpetuity, in full respect of the social teachings of the Catholic Church.  A portion of the interest generated by these investments is used for the organization’s mission and enables us to better plan our many overseas programs. These investments are closely supervised by our Finance Committee. 

By contributing to the Solidarity Fund, you enable us to take on major long-term challenges that promote alternatives to unjust social, political, economic and environmental structures, while benefiting from a tax advantage.

We are currently working on the following areas of focus: 

• Ecological justice 
• Democracy and citizen participation
• Justice for women
• Peace and reconciliation
• Humanitarian aid  

As part of its five-year strategic plan, Development and Peace – Caritas Canada is revising its areas of focus to ensure that our mission remains relevant. We are considering the changing realities of the countries, regions and continents where we are present to reach the most vulnerable.
