Montreal, September 11, 2024 – Development and Peace ― Caritas Canada (DPCC) announces that its Executive Director is taking a temporary hiatus due to health issues, effective today. During his absence, Luke Stocking will act as Interim Executive Director. He currently holds the position of Director of Public Engagement and has extensive experience and knowledge of the organization. Development and Peace ― Caritas Canada expresses its full confidence in his ability to steer the ship with dedication and skill over the coming months.
“Along with our partners, donors, collaborators and employees, I would like to extend our support and prayers to Carl Hétu during this difficult time,” says Brenda Arakaza, Chair of the DPCC National Council. “Carl must now focus on his health, and we wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him at his very best again.”
“Our organization’s work is essential, and my priority is to ensure a smooth transition while maintaining the momentum of ongoing projects,” says Luke Stocking, DPCC’s Interim Executive Director. “Although we already miss Carl’s presence, the determination of our members and employees, and the faith of our donors, inspire me to believe that we can weather this period with hope and solidarity.”
Carl Hétu was appointed in February 2022 for a 5-year term.
