We’ve walked 40,075 km! How far will we go?

Development and Peace – Caritas Canada applauds the outstanding participation of Canadians in solidarity walks that have been organized across the country as part of its Share the Journey campaign.

Many Canadians have put on their walking shoes since the launch of the campaign in the fall of 2018. Whether alone, with their families, communities, parishes of schools, more than 6,000 people have taken part in over one hundred walks from coast to coast.

Bathurst, Bowmanville, Brampton, Brossard, Calgary, Chambly, Chatham, Chicoutimi, Conception Bay, Dartmouth, Dolbeau-Mistassini, Drummondville, Dundas, Edmonton, Esterhazy, Fort McMurray, Gatineau, Halifax, Kamloops, Kanata, Kingston, La Prairie, Laval, London, Mississauga, Montréal, Moose Jaw, New Westminster, Newmarket, Niagara Falls, Ottawa, Owen Sound, Pincher Creek, Plessisville, Québec, Regina, Rockland, Saskatoon, Sidney, St-Eustache, St-Hyacinthe, Stony Plain, Stony Plane, Sudbury, Tamaganouche, Toronto, Trenton, Vancouver – the list of participating cities is long and impressive, and it is only getting longer!

We would like to give a special mention to Holy Trinity High School in Fort McMurray, which walked 20,439 km!

How far will we go between now and August 31st, 2019? We have already made it around the world once, can we do it twice? It is not too late to walk and register your km in our calculator.

To all those who walked, a big THANK YOU for your solidarity!
