With the increasing privatization of water ― a worrying issue everywhere, but especially in impoverished communities in the Global South ― Canadians were invited to say no to bottled water.

This firstly because clean, safe tap water is freely available in Canada; secondly because single-use plastics are enormously wasteful and polluting; and finally, as a gesture of solidarity with those fighting to retain free access to safe drinking water.
