Development and Peace ― Caritas Canada is raising funds for the Palestinian people besieged in the southern Gaza Strip, who are in urgent need of help.
As a member of the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, Development and Peace ― Caritas Canada is also participating in the Humanitarian Coalition’s Gaza Humanitarian Emergency appeal, to which we invite Canadians to donate generously.
In addition to over a million people displaced, the UN reports over 3,700 people killed since hostilities escalated earlier this month. The victims include Viola, a 26-year-old Caritas Jerusalem employee and her sister, daughter and husband, who were killed by a missile strike on an Orthodox Church building.
Facing a near-total blockade and ongoing bombardment, our partner Caritas Jerusalem urgently needs help to provide food, water, shelter, hygiene kits, healthcare and psychosocial support to the wounded, the displaced and the bereaved.
So, as you join Pope Francis in praying that “weapons be silenced” and that “the cry for peace” is heeded, we invite you to give generously to help our sisters and brothers in Gaza.
