With a ceasefire in place after the massacre of over 46,000 people there, attention is rightly focussed on Gaza. But Israel has now stepped up its aggressions in the West Bank. So, what is Palestinian life like there?
Three of our staff saw it firsthand when they visited Bethlehem in December 2024 at the invitation of the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem.
This webinar will provide an account of what they witnessed: the birthland of Jesus devoid of pilgrims and tourists; the gradual stifling of the economy; the appropriation and occupation of the land; and the removal of nearly every freedom. But they also saw the courage and conviction of a people who refuse to abandon hope; who never cease smiling even as they never quit resisting peacefully but powerfully; and who work miracles everyday to accompany, support and aid the occupied and oppressed people despite severely limited resources and a rapidly worsening situation.
A Palestinian activist will also explain the challenges she faces in protecting her people’s rights.
The panelists:
- Luke Stocking, Interim executive director
