As a Development and Peace — Caritas Canada (DPCC) member, how often have you heard a story about a partner, a protest, or a petition and thought: more people need to know about this? By engaging local media, like newspapers and television stations, members can help amplify the work of our partners and our movement in their own communities. But where do you start?

In this workshop, DPCC youth representative Aloysius Wong, a journalist at the CBC, and Ottawa animator Inès Kidasharira, a former journalist in Burundi, will help you learn how to find your voice. From how to write a strong letter to the editor to how to give a tip to a local journalist to cover your next event, participants will come away with skills they can use to boost our campaigns and reach their neighbors beyond the parish.
